KURT WILLIAM HACKBARTH (Connecticut, EUA, 1974), narrador, dramaturgo y traductor. Se tituló summa cum laude en política, filosofía y economía en la Universidad Fairfield en 1996. Se estableció en la ciudad de Oaxaca en el 1999 y, desde 2007, está naturalizado mexicano. Durante seis años, fue profesor de idiomas y cultura en la Universidad Regional del Sureste (URSE). Ha escrito y producido dos obras de teatro: La [medio] diezmada (2011), la cual también dirigió, y El óstrakon (2012), en el Teatro Juárez de la Ciudad de Oaxaca. Es autor del libro de cuentos Interrumpimos este programa (Editorial Ficticia, 2012). Ha impartido talleres en literatura norteamericana, traducción literaria, teatro y cine y cuento corto en el Centro de las Artes San Agustín (CASA) y en la Biblioteca Henestrosa. Ha escrito periodismo cultural para la revista El Jolgorio y actualmente, El Comején. Colabora y actúa en el programa de sátira sociopolítica, Grosso Modo TV. KURT WILLIAM HACKBARTH (Connecticut, USA, 1974), is a writer, playwright and translator. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Arts from Fairfield University in 1996. He moved to the City of Oaxaca, Mexico in 1999 and became a naturalized Mexican citizen in 2007. For six years he taught language and culture at the Universidad Regional del Sureste (URSE).He has written and produced two plays: La [medio] diezmada in 2011, which he also directed, and El ostrakón in 2012, both premiering at Oaxaca’s Juarez Theater. He is the author of the short-story collection Interrumpimos este programa (Editorial Ficticia, 2012). He has given workshops in American Literature, Literary Translation, Theater and Film and The Short Story at the San Agustín Arts Center (CASA) and the Henestrosa Library. He  has written cultural journalism for the magazine El jolgorio and, currently, El comején. He co-writes and acts in the online political satire program, Grosso Modo TV.
